Marcelo Gallardo Appointed as New Head Coach of Al-Ittihad

Marcelo Gallardo, former Argentina international and successful coach of River Plate, has been appointed as the new head coach of Saudi Pro League champions Al-Ittihad.
Gallardo replaces Nuno Espirito Santo, who was sacked following a poor run of results.
Gallardo has signed a contract with Al-Ittihad until 2025.
Under Gallardo's management, River Plate won 14 titles, including two Copa Libertadores.
Al-Ittihad are currently fifth in the Saudi Pro League, having won only once in their last five games.
