• The Maple Leafs announced on June 6, 2025, that Derek Lalonde will join Craig Berube’s staff as an assistant coach.
• Lalonde was dismissed from his role as Detroit Red Wings head coach midway through the 2024-25 season after compiling an 89-86-23 record.
• He won back-to-back Stanley Cups as an assistant with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2020 and 2021.
• Lalonde’s background includes stints as an assistant for Team USA at the 2023 and 2024 world championships and head-coaching roles in the AHL, ECHL and USHL.
