Maple Heights Man Dies After Grocery-Store Shooting and Car Theft

  • A 28-year-old man loading groceries at the Southgate Giant Eagle on Warrensville Center Road was shot in the chest around 1:40 p.m. Saturday.
  • Officers found the wounded shopper and rushed him to MetroHealth Medical Center, where the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner determined he died just before 7 a.m. Sunday.
  • The suspect fled in the victim’s vehicle, which officers located and recovered minutes later using the Law Enforcement Automated Data System.
