• Laxman Barse, 30, was dragged from his home in Silger on Wednesday evening and killed with sticks and a sharp-edged weapon, according to police.

• Officials say the attackers suspected Barse of passing information to a nearby police camp, with villagers reporting about 20 assailants and a distance of roughly three kilometres from the post.
• The killing follows earlier attacks on educators in Bastar, including two shikshadoots slain in Bijapur on July 14 and another teacher killed in Dantewada on February 19.
