Overview

• The victim was approached shortly before 19:00 on Abraham-Lincoln-Allee by a man who asked for a cigarette and then pushed him into a building entrance.
• A second assailant pulled at the victim’s bag until the strap tore before a nearby resident intervened, prompting the initial suspects to flee.
• The group met the victim again at Platz der Freundschaft where a third man joined, and together they took the bag and fled toward Abraham-Lincoln-Allee.
• The robbery is under investigation by the Kriminalkommissariat Mannheim at the Kriminalpolizeidirektion Heidelberg, and no arrests have been reported.
• Investigators published physical descriptions of the three suspects and asked witnesses to call the criminal-police tip line at 0621/174-4444.
