Overview
- Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann laid the foundation stone as he and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal formally launched the redevelopment package.
- The plan covers beautification, pond refurbishment with Bhakra Canal water (Rs 1.15 crore), sewage and drainage upgrades (Rs 49.06 lakh), and an Aam Aadmi Clinic (Rs 25 lakh).
- A light-and-sound show near the pond is budgeted at Rs 6.78 crore, with tenders already issued for the work.
- A comprehensive master plan is being prepared to guide heritage conservation, pilgrimage facilities, sanitation, parking and traffic management.
- Measures include redesigned entrances, a token system for prasad distribution, a completed pilgrims’ hall and parking for about 300 vehicles, with completion expected within a year.
