Overview
- The Punjab Assembly, meeting in a special session at Anandpur Sahib, unanimously designated the Amritsar walled city (Galiara), Anandpur Sahib and Talwandi Sabo as holy cities with bans on the sale and use of meat, liquor, tobacco and other intoxicants.
