• Manish Malhotra returned to India Couture Week after a five-year hiatus and replaced a traditional runway with his first-ever couture party format.
• The event occupied two halls at the Taj Palace in New Delhi, one for unveiling his latest collection and the other for exhibiting iconic Bollywood costumes from his three-decade career.
• Brazilian supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio made her India runway debut as showstopper, presenting a liquid-silver saree ensemble and a pearl- and crystal-studded cocktail lehenga.
• Guests enjoyed an immersive atmosphere featuring live performances by Jonita Gandhi, a bespoke menu of Malhotra’s favourite dishes and lavish floral installations.
• The couture party, organized in partnership with Hyundai India Couture Week, Reliance Brands and the Fashion Design Council of India, runs through July 30 ahead of the finale by JJ Valaya.
