Overview

  • Seventeen militant cadres from outfits such as PREPAK (Progressive) and the Kangleipak Communist Party were apprehended in intelligence-driven raids across eight districts between June 16 and 22.
  • Security forces recovered 24 firearms—including SLRs, AK-series rifles and pistols—alongside grenades, IEDs and other war-like stores.
  • Manipur Police dismantled an inter-state arms-smuggling network by arresting four dealers and seizing high-end weapons including Smith & Wesson, Sig Sauer and Glock pistols plus over 150 rounds of ammunition.
  • Separate police sweeps detained UNLF cadres accused of extorting government employees and contractors and arrested a PREPAK (Pro) operative suspected of subversive activities.
