Manipur Security Forces Seize Arms, Arrest Militants in Intensified Crackdown

  • Security forces, including the Army, Assam Rifles, CRPF, BSF, ITBP, and Manipur Police, conducted coordinated operations targeting insurgent and extortion networks.
  • Seventeen weapons, 17 IEDs, grenades, and large caches of ammunition were seized across six districts, including Imphal West and Thoubal.
  • Sixteen militants from various outfits, including the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP), were apprehended during intelligence-driven operations.
  • Two active KCP (PWG) members involved in extortion activities targeting government officials and civilians were arrested in Imphal West.
  • Since April 16, authorities have recovered over 155 stolen cars and 30 two-wheelers in an ongoing vehicle recovery drive.
