Overview
- Police say a raid to arrest suspected drug and arms trafficker Lunkhopao Haokip, alleged to be a UKLF leader, failed as he fled with contraband, following a similar attempt on October 1 in T Kotlen.
- As the team withdrew from Longja village, a crowd blocked the road and pelted stones, damaging windshields of two to three vehicles, including the Additional SP’s, with no injuries reported.
- An FIR has been registered over the attack, and authorities report ongoing search and area-dominance operations with reinforced checkpoints and escorted convoys on vulnerable routes.
- UKLF has condemned the raid, alleging a violation of Suspension of Operation ground rules under the tripartite agreement renewed on September 4.
- Separately, joint forces recovered a significant cache of weapons, ammunition and explosives across several districts, and police warned the public against sharing fake videos or rumours online.
