- Speaking at the force’s 134th Raising Day in Imphal on Oct. 19, DGP Rajiv Singh urged Meitei and Kuki-Zo groups to engage in stakeholder-inclusive talks.
- He reported improvement over the last one-and-a-half years, with declines in violence, deaths and injuries.
- Security forces recovered 3,014 illegal arms and about 30,000 rounds, and received more than 1,000 surrendered weapons with roughly 15,000 rounds.
- Teams also seized 445 improvised explosive devices and 809 hand grenades and detained 26 suspects under the National Security Act.
- Singh said sporadic arson and firing persist but forces remain alert and have at times held back to avoid harming civilians.
