Overview
- About 5,000 displaced people have returned to villages on the Imphal Valley periphery in phase one of the resettlement plan
- District authorities and security forces are overseeing cleaning and repair operations in first-return sites such as New Keithelmanbi and Tairenpokpi
- Returnees will continue to receive monthly rations and benefits through the State Livelihood Mission after they move back
- The government has allocated ₹3.03 lakh grants for 7,000–8,000 families to rebuild destroyed homes and is constructing about 1,000 prefabricated houses for those unable to return
