Manipur Appoints Slain BSF Constable’s Brother as Assistant Sub-Inspector

The state framed the hiring as a tribute to his sacrifice during Operation Sindoor.

Overview

  • Manipur Police said late Friday that Chingakham Naoba Singh has been appointed an assistant sub-inspector in recognition of his brother Deepak Chingakham’s service.
  • Deepak’s father requested a state government job for the younger son to remain near the family, and commissioner-cum-secretary N. Ashok Kumar issued the authorizing order in July.
