Manhunt Underway in Tunbridge Wells After Teenager Allegedly Raped on Common

Police issue a detailed suspect description, appealing for CCTV and dashcam footage.

Overview

  • The assault was reported between 8pm and 9pm on October 18 in a wooded area of Tunbridge Wells Common near Mount Ephraim.
  • Kent Police say the suspect approached the girl on Victoria Road, walked with her toward Mount Ephraim, then allegedly took her into the woods, made threats, and assaulted her.
  • The suspect is described as white, mid-30s, about 5ft 8in, with dark hair in a bun, a short goatee and moustache, wearing a blue jacket and carrying an orange drawstring bag.
  • He is believed to have been riding a bicycle with thick tyres at the time, and officers are conducting forensic work, CCTV checks, and house-to-house enquiries with visible patrols continuing.
