Overview

• Two men entered the tavern in the early hours of 5 October, demanded a patron’s licensed firearm, a shot went off, and they then fired randomly at patrons.
• Five people were killed and six were injured, with SAPS responding at about 01:30 in Zithobeni, Bronkhorstspruit.

• Investigators have opened five counts of murder and six counts of attempted murder in connection with the attack.
