Overview
- The shooting erupted Nov. 29 just before 6 p.m. inside a Lucile Avenue banquet hall with an estimated 100–150 people present, and officials said gunfire continued outside.
- The four victims were ages 8, 9, 14 and 21, and 11 others were wounded, with at least one in critical condition, according to the sheriff.
- Sheriff Patrick Withrow said firearms were recovered on the building’s roof and that the FBI, ATF and California Department of Justice are assisting the probe.
- No suspects have been publicly identified or arrested, and authorities are requesting cellphone video, witness accounts and other tips to develop suspect descriptions.
- City leaders organized vigils and victim support, and they noted that several separate weapons and gang-related arrests reported nearby were not tied to the banquet-hall killings.
