• Merseyside Police’s serious case review unit continues to investigate Lucy Hargreaves’ 2005 shooting and arson under a specialist cold case review opened in 2023.
• Detectives are appealing for details on a burnt-out gold Lexus (NAD499) and a stolen mobile phone used by the armed intruders in the hours after the murder.
• Kevin Parle remains the prime suspect abroad under an international manhunt for Hargreaves’ killing and the 2004 shooting of teenager Liam Kelly.
• Twenty-one arrests have been made over the years but no convictions have followed and two men tried in 2007 were acquitted for lack of evidence.
• Hargreaves’ relatives released a never-before-published college photograph and urged anyone with information, however small, to come forward to aid the inquiry.
