Overview

• Gunfire erupted around 2:30 a.m. on the outdoor patio of the Alas Locas sports bar in Cleveland, about 45 miles northeast of Houston.
• Six people were shot, one person died, and two victims were airlifted in critical condition while others sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
• Witnesses said the man arrived around midnight, sat alone drinking for about an hour, left briefly, then returned and opened fire without warning.
• Investigators recovered numerous shell casings and estimate at least 20 rounds were fired from a .40 or .45-caliber handgun.
• The shooter fled in a white full-size van with no side windows and a long scratch; authorities are reviewing security video, have released images from the scene, and say the suspect acted alone.
