Overview
- The victim was identified as Siraj Abdullah Shaikh, 24, a call centre employee from Mankhurd.
- He was stabbed in the neck, chest, back and waist inside a CSMT–Panvel local as it neared Vashi on Tuesday morning.
- The attacker jumped off at Vashi and escaped, while co-passengers helped Shaikh off at Sanpada before he was taken for treatment.
- The Government Railway Police registered an attempt-to-murder case and formed three teams to trace the absconding suspect.
- Police identified the suspect as Rajesh Rajgam Arunvihari, a Mankhurd resident, and said the assault likely stemmed from an earlier personal dispute.
