Manhattanhenge arrives: NYC skies alight with solar spectacle

Manhattanhenge is a rare astronomical event where the sun sets in alignment with Manhattan’s street grid.
The annual spectacle will occur on May 29 and 30, and again on July 12 and 13.
The sun will be fully visible along Manhattan’s east-west roads, including 14th, 23rd, 34th, 42nd, and 57th Streets.
The event is best viewed from the easternmost points in Manhattan, where New Jersey will still be visible across the Hudson River.
Clouds may enhance the visual effects, though there is a chance they could obscure the sunset.
