Overview
- The special edition ride began at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium on October 5 and proceeded to India Gate to mark World Teachers’ Day.
- Roughly 1,000 participants took part in Delhi, including educators and representatives from the Education Department, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, and Lady Shri Ram College.
- According to the Fit India dashboard, over 10,500 teachers across India are engaged with the Sundays on Cycle campaign.
- The initiative is organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in partnership with the Cycling Federation of India, Yogasana Bharat, and MY Bharat, with events held across state and union territory capitals and SAI/Khelo India centres.
- Complementary activities included yoga sessions, skipping, fitness games, children’s participation zones, and a street play, with appearances by Abhishek Nain, Tania Sachdev, Sachin Yadav, and Fit India ambassador Rohtash Chaudhary.
