Manchester Pride 2025 Kicks Off as City Prepares for Saturday Parade

Transport bosses are urging public transport use on Saturday due to extensive city-centre road closures.

Overview

  • Events run August 22–25, with the ticketed Gay Village Party underway on Friday and acts including Samantha Mumba and Moonchild Sanelly on the Alan Turing Stage.
  • Saturday’s parade starts at 12pm from Liverpool Road and follows Deansgate, Peter Street, Oxford Road, Portland Street, Princess Street and Whitworth Street to finish near Fairfield Street around 3pm.
  • An accessible viewing area is available opposite The Midland Hotel on Peter Street for those needing dedicated access.
  • TfGM has issued road closures and bus diversions for Saturday, advises against driving into the centre, and says all affected roads are due to reopen by 7pm.
  • The new ticketed Mardi Gras at Depot Mayfield runs Saturday and Sunday with performers including Leigh-Anne, Billy Porter, Olly Alexander and Nelly Furtado, and the weekend concludes with a candlelit vigil on Monday 9–10pm with George House Trust.
