Manchester City Fans Invited to Design 2026-27 Third Kit Using AI

Manchester City and Puma have launched a competition for fans to design the team's 2026-27 third kit using an AI-powered tool called Puma AI Creator.
The AI tool, developed in partnership with DeepObjects, uses text-to-image generation and allows customization of patterns, colors, collars, and logos.
Fans can submit designs until December 20, 2024, with the top 10 shortlisted by fan ratings and expert judges before a public vote in January 2025 decides the winner.
The winning design will become the official third kit for the 2026-27 season, marking the first time an AI-generated fan design is worn on the field by Manchester City players.
This initiative reflects a growing trend of using AI in sports merchandising to engage fans and foster co-creation, despite ongoing concerns around AI ethics and content moderation.
