- All airlines designated for the expanded Terminal 2 are now operating there following this week’s relocations by Emirates and easyJet.
- About 75% of the airport’s roughly 32 million annual passengers will now pass through the revamped Terminal 2.
- Emirates’ move opened Terminal 2’s new second pier, allowing the A380 to use double air bridges at the facility for the first time.
- Large areas of Terminal 1 have shut, with long-running outlets such as Giraffe, the Grain Loft, Greggs, Pret, Spar and WHSmith now closed.
- Finishing works continue on Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, including a Great Northern Market dining area, the airport’s first Wetherspoon’s, a Boutique Mall with brands such as Chanel, 13 new flexible stands, upgraded security and a 500-seat Sporting Chance bar.
