Overview
- Alexander Scott-Bowen pleaded guilty to seven counts of sexual assault on 6 July and was given a 38-week prison term on 14 September, but he was released because his earlier time on remand equalled that sentence.
- Police said Scott-Bowen approached predominantly young girls, complimented their feet or shoes, then grabbed and sniffed their feet in a repeated pattern of offending across several years.
- Forensic work helped secure the case: DNA from a shoelace linked him to a 2022 victim, doorbell camera footage and a positive victim ID tied him to a 2025 incident, and fetish-related material was recovered from his phone.
- Officers first investigated reports in 2022, re-opened the inquiry after similar complaints in March 2025, arrested Scott-Bowen in March 2025, and re-arrested him after further incidents while he was on bail.
- Detective Sergeant Mike Coleman said the attacks caused significant distress, thanked victims who re-engaged with investigators, and said the prevention order and register entry aim to protect the community going forward.
