Man Sentenced for Attempted Murder of Pregnant Ex-Girlfriend in Aberfan

Daniel Popescu receives over 17 years for stabbing Andreea Pintili, who was 37 weeks pregnant, in a premeditated attack on her way home.

Popescu was sentenced to 17 years and four months in prison, with an additional three years on licence.
The attack occurred on December 5, 2023, as Pintili returned from a school run.
Popescu stalked and harassed Pintili for months after their breakup in August 2023.
Schools in the area were placed under lockdown during the incident.
Despite the attack, Pintili and her unborn child survived.
