Man Opens Fire on Vehicle That Mistakenly Turned Into His Driveway, Killing 20-Year-Old Woman

A 20-year-old woman was fatally shot by a 65-year-old homeowner after the vehicle she was in mistakenly pulled into his driveway in upstate New York.
The homeowner Kevin Monahan fired at least two shots at the vehicle as the group was leaving his property, with one bullet striking the woman Kaylin Gillis in the neck and killing her.
Monahan has been charged with second-degree murder and has no history of violent criminal behavior.
Gillis was an aspiring marine biologist who had just graduated high school and was set to start college in Florida.
The incident has led to calls for an end to senseless gun violence and sparked a debate around "stand your ground" laws.
