Man on Trial for Skye Stabbing and Shooting Spree

Finlay MacDonald faces charges of murder and attempted murder after a violent rampage on the Isle of Skye in August 2022.

Rowena MacDonald testified that her husband, Finlay MacDonald, attacked her with a knife in front of their children, leaving her severely injured.
The alleged incident occurred on August 10, 2022, at their home in Tarskavaig, Skye, after a confrontation over messages on Rowena's phone.
Finlay MacDonald is accused of murdering his brother-in-law, John MacKinnon, with a shotgun in Teangue, Skye, on the same day.
He also faces charges of attempting to murder Fay and John MacKenzie in Dornie, Wester Ross, during the same spree.
MacDonald has pleaded not guilty, citing diminished responsibility due to an abnormality of mind, and the trial is ongoing at the High Court in Edinburgh.
