Overview

• The rider was seen on the rear coach of AC local No. K/25 between Diva and Kopar and was electrocuted when the train halted at Diva around 10:12 am.
• Witnesses said his clothes caught fire after he touched live overhead equipment while attempting to climb down.
• RPF Sub-Inspector J. K. Verma, ASI Shivkumar Meena, pointsman Sharad, GRP personnel and porters brought him down and moved him to an ambulance.
• He was taken to Shivaji Hospital in Kalwa for emergency treatment, with his condition reported as critical.
• The Station Master issued Memo No. 136887 and the train left at 10:38 am after a 26‑minute delay, as authorities began an inquiry and reiterated that rooftop travel is an offence.
