Overview

• Police responded around 1:46 a.m. to reports of a serious crash near East 58th Street and North College Avenue.
• Officers found a red pickup in the 5800 block of North College Avenue with two occupants; the adult driver was pronounced dead and an adult passenger was hospitalized in critical condition.
• Preliminary findings indicate the incident began with a hit-and-run near Kessler Boulevard East Drive before the pickup traveled south on North College Avenue.
• Investigators say the pickup sideswiped two parked cars, crossed into northbound lanes, left the roadway, struck at least two trees, and flipped before coming to rest.
