Man Killed, Officer Injured in Thornton Police Shooting

Suspect attempted to grab officer's gun during struggle; investigation underway.

The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. near West Thornton Parkway and Gale Boulevard.
The suspect, involved in an earlier assault, tried to seize an officer's holstered gun.
A second officer shot the suspect, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The injured officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized.
The shooting is being investigated by the 17th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team.
