Police deployed a time-limited stop-and-search order to support an urgent hunt for the attacker.

Overview

  • Officers attended Lloyd Baker Street after reports of a stabbing on Wednesday night and found 28-year-old Reece Salmon with stab wounds; he was taken to hospital and died the following day.
  • The Metropolitan Police have launched a murder investigation, no arrests have been made, and detectives say urgent enquiries are ongoing under reference CAD 8475/16SEP.

  • The victim’s family have paid tribute, describing him as a loving partner and son, dozens of floral tributes have been left on the street, and specially trained officers are supporting next of kin.
  • Police have urged anyone with information to call 101 with the reference CAD 8475/16SEP or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, and investigators say visible patrols will remain while they pursue leads.
