Overview

• Deputies arrived around 10:30 p.m. Saturday to find a man wounded by two pit bulls in the backyard of a home on the 44000 block of 22nd Street East in Lancaster.
• The victim was taken to a hospital after deputies shot one of the attacking dogs and later died of his injuries.
• Four other dogs were removed from the property by Los Angeles County Animal Control for further evaluation.
• County child welfare services have been notified following reports of a child living in a home with a history of law enforcement visits.
• Authorities have not yet determined whether the victim was a resident or a visitor at the residence.
