Overview

• At 12:50pm on June 11, a military truck struck a 70-year-old man riding a mobility scooter on the A6136 Catterick Road near Colburn Lane in Catterick Garrison.
• The man was airlifted by the ambulance service but died en route to the hospital.
• The driver and passenger of the military vehicle are assisting police with their enquiries.
• Emergency services kept the road closed until 7:10pm to process the scene and recover the vehicles.
• North Yorkshire Police have appealed for witnesses and dashcam footage to aid their ongoing investigation.
