Overview
- Liam Bunton, 35, admitted two counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged about 13 to 15 that took place between June 2018 and January 2019.
- He first contacted the victim by Snapchat when he was 27, and the abuse developed over several months before it was reported to police in 2025.
- Following a police interview in which Bunton said 'no comment', he was charged in December 2025 and pleaded guilty in May 2026.
- On Friday, August 21, 2026, Worcester Crown Court sentenced him to two concurrent four-year prison terms and ordered a victim surcharge, indefinite registration on the sex offenders’ register, and a restraining order preventing contact with the victim until 2038.
- Detective Sergeant Callum Godwin said the result shows historic offences will be pursued and urged other victims to report abuse, with West Mercia Police offering reporting routes including anonymous contact via Crimestoppers.
