Man Indicted for Stealing Pair of Iconic Ruby Slippers from 'The Wizard of Oz' Valued at $3.5 Million

A Minnesota man has been charged with stealing a pair of ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz from a museum in 2005.
The FBI recovered the slippers in a sting operation in 2018 after 13 years.
The slippers were insured for $1 million when stolen but are now valued at $3.5 million.
The slippers are one of four remaining pairs worn by Garland in the 1939 film.
The man faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted of the theft.
