Overview

• The 29-year-old suspect allegedly shoplifted a pair of shoes from a store at Westfield Sydney shortly before 4.30pm on Thursday.
• He fled without paying and was pursued by a staff member into a neighbouring section of the mall.
• The man jumped over a railing and fell approximately six metres, sustaining a serious head injury.
• Paramedics treated him at the scene before rushing him to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
• Authorities are encouraging witnesses and anyone with security footage to contact Crime Stoppers or local police.
