Police are investigating on behalf of the coroner without treating the death as suspicious.

  • An extensive search involving drones, officers, search teams and dogs located his body in a field at around 1:50 p.m., according to Sussex Police.
  • He was among 16 passengers and a pilot on a commercial Virgin Balloon Flights trip from Billingshurst to Dunsfold and had paid for his ticket, police said.
  • An inquest will open at West Sussex Coroner’s Court on Sept. 30.
