Overview

• Officers were called shortly after 7am on Tuesday to reports of a body in the water near Caernarfon Castle.
• The coroner has been informed and enquiries are underway to determine how the man came to be in the dock.
• Coastguard teams from Bangor and Llandwrog and the RNLI Beaumaris lifeboat attended the scene.
• Holyhead Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre described the response as a police-first incident.
• Sections of Victoria Dock and nearby streets, including Church Street, were cordoned off and reopened by early afternoon.
