Man Fatally Shot in River North Following Argument

A verbal altercation escalated into gunfire early Sunday morning, leaving one man dead and the suspect at large.

The incident occurred around 3:15 a.m. on the 500-600 block of North Franklin Street in Chicago's River North neighborhood.
Police reported that an argument between two men turned physical, leading one man to shoot the other multiple times in the chest.
The victim was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after.
Authorities have provided conflicting details about the victim's age, with reports describing him as either 25 or 31 years old.
The suspect fled the scene, and no arrests have been made as Area Three detectives continue their investigation.
