Man Fatally Shot During Dispute Over Birthday Celebration in Pune

A roadside birthday party in Pimpri-Chinchwad escalated into violence, leaving one man dead and police pursuing multiple suspects.

Vikram Guruswami Reddy, 37, was shot and killed during a dispute over a roadside birthday celebration in the Dehu Road area of Pimpri-Chinchwad on Thursday night.
The altercation began when a group objected to the celebration, leading to a physical fight in which Reddy intervened to mediate.
One of the accused opened fire on Reddy, who later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital; his friend Nandkishor Yadav was also injured in the incident.
Police have arrested one suspect, Raziya Sameer Sheikh, who allegedly instigated her son to fire the fatal shot, while other accomplices remain at large.
Authorities have filed charges under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act, and investigations are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects.
