Man Dies Following Christmas Day Car Attack in London’s West End

Aidan Chapman, 25, succumbed to his injuries on New Year’s Eve after a car struck four pedestrians on Shaftesbury Avenue; police are treating his death as homicide.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed the incident is being treated as a homicide, and charges against the suspect may be updated to murder.
The suspect, Anthony Gilheaney, 30, appeared in court last week facing charges including attempted murder, dangerous driving, and possession of a knife.
Police stated the incident stemmed from an altercation outside a nightclub and emphasized it was not terror-related.
Authorities are appealing for witnesses and any available dash cam or CCTV footage to aid their investigation.
