Man Charged with Murder of Beloved South London Teacher

Gemma Devonish, 42, was fatally stabbed in Carshalton; suspect James Madden, 38, will appear in court Monday.

Gemma Devonish, a 42-year-old teacher at Rosebery School in Epsom, was found with fatal stab wounds at a residence in Carshalton on Thursday morning.
James Madden, 38, who was known to Ms. Devonish, was arrested early Friday and charged with her murder on Saturday.
Police have stated they are not seeking any other suspects in connection with the case, and a post-mortem examination is pending.
Rosebery School described Ms. Devonish as a devoted and inspiring teacher, with the school community deeply mourning her loss.
