Man Charged With Murder in Beating Death of Englewood Woman

Antwon Chambers, a registered sex offender, is accused of killing Terryn Winters, who was living in an abandoned home with her teenage son.

Antwon Chambers, 32, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of 34-year-old Terryn Winters in Englewood, Chicago.
Winters was found beaten to death on December 9 in an abandoned house where she had been living with her 14-year-old son after losing her job.
Prosecutors presented evidence including surveillance footage, a pipe wrench found near Winters' body, and photos of her body discovered on her phone.
Chambers, who was living in a nearby halfway house after serving 12 years for criminal sexual assault, was arrested on December 19 and remains in custody pending trial.
Winters’ teenage son, now in the care of family, described her as kind and resilient; her family is mourning her loss and seeking justice.
