Man Charged With Murder After Woman’s Body Found in Sydney Bushland

Police are awaiting autopsy results under Strike Force Dowerin to determine what happened to the 47-year-old woman

A woman has been arrested after a person’s body was found at a property in an inner-north suburb of Adelaide.

Overview

  • Leanne Akrap, 47, was discovered partially clothed and face down in a Werrington reserve on June 15 after a passer-by alerted police at about 1:15 pm
  • Forensic officers believe the body had been in the isolated bushland for several days before it was found
  • A second crime scene was set up at a Parkes Avenue unit block, 500 metres from the reserve, where detectives conducted searches and door-knocking
  • Bryan Steven Johnson, 47, was arrested at his Hobartville home on June 16 and formally charged with Akrap’s murder
  • Detectives from Nepean, the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad and the Missing Persons Unit are leading the inquiry, with autopsy findings expected soon
