Overview
- A Canberra man was charged with murder and arson and was due to face the ACT Magistrates Court on Tuesday in relation to a May unit fire that left a woman dead.
- The victim has been identified as 46-year-old Kylie (Kylee) McHugh, who was found inside a ground-floor unit at Wallcliffe Flats on Osborne Place after emergency crews responded to a blaze about 6:40am on May 18.
- ACT Policing’s homicide squad says the accused was known to the victim and investigators allege he killed Ms McHugh before setting the unit alight.
