Overview
- Thames Valley Police were called to St Aldate’s at 4.25pm on Saturday, July 19, after reports that a man in his 60s had been punched severely.
- The victim died of his injuries at the John Radcliffe Hospital on Sunday, July 20, prompting a murder investigation.
- Stanley Saxon, 45 and of no fixed abode, was arrested and charged with one count of manslaughter on Tuesday, July 22.
- Saxon appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court and has been remanded to Oxford Crown Court for a hearing on August 22.
- Officers say the investigation is in its early stages, there is no wider threat to the public and anyone with information should contact Thames Valley Police or Crimestoppers.
