Man Charged with Manslaughter After Deadly Newcastle House Explosion

Reece Galbraith faces charges related to the October blast that killed a seven-year-old boy and a 35-year-old man in Newcastle.

Reece Galbraith, 33, of Gateshead, has been charged with two counts of manslaughter, cannabis production, and involvement in the supply of cannabis.
The explosion occurred in October on Violet Close in the Benwell and Elswick area of Newcastle, resulting in the deaths of seven-year-old Archie York and 35-year-old Jason Laws.
Three other men, previously arrested as part of the investigation, remain on police bail pending further inquiries.
Northumbria Police emphasized the ongoing nature of the investigation and urged the public to avoid speculation that could jeopardize legal proceedings.
Galbraith is scheduled to appear at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court, while police continue to seek additional information from the public.
