Man Charged with Harassing Journalist Antoinette Lattouf After Online Threats

The 61-year-old was arrested following a counter-terrorism investigation and will appear in court next month.

  • New South Wales Police charged a 61-year-old man with using a carriage service to menace, harass, or offend journalist Antoinette Lattouf.
  • The arrest followed a counter-terrorism investigation and a search warrant executed at the man's home in Lake Cathie, near Port Macquarie.
  • Lattouf reported receiving racially charged and threatening messages after sharing a social media post about the Israel-Gaza conflict during an ABC radio stint.
  • The journalist is also pursuing a high-profile unlawful termination lawsuit against the ABC, alleging her removal was influenced by political and racial bias.
  • The man, who allegedly targeted others online as well, was granted conditional bail and is set to appear in Port Macquarie Local Court on March 5.
